(ALHN) NOMINATIONS OPEN FOR COMMITTEE MEMBERS Bylaws Committee January 12, 2001 The Bylaws Committee's function is to prepare language to present to the Board and membership. Neither the Bylaws Committee or the Board can amend the Bylaws. Only the members can amend the Bylaws. In accordance with ALHN bylaws that the Board creates committees, the Board, at their meeting on January 10, 2001, voted to limit the number of seats on the committee to seven (7). It also voted to require that two board directors would be the co-chairs on the Bylaws Committee. This leaves 5 seats to be filled by nominations and elections by the membership. As required by the Emergency Amendment to the Bylaws #D "(5) creation of Committees"; and #H "All committee members must be members; and all vacant committee member positions must be filled by a membership vote"; this notice is given: I. NOMINATIONS A. Nominations are now open for individuals to fill the five (5) seats on the ALHN Bylaws Committee. Nominations will close 48 hours from the date of this Notice at 7 p.m. EST, on Sunday, January 14, 2001. B. Only ALHN members (ALHN Membership-Voting List subscribers) as of this date and time may nominate or be nominated, with each member allowed one nomination. If you're interested in participating on this committee, you may nominate yourself. C. (ALHN) ELECTION PROCEDURES January 27, 2001 An objection was received by ALHN member, Eveline Crocker, to seating the 5 candidates to the 5 seats on the Bylaws Committe without member election. Therefore, this notice is given: 1. Nominations for the election of five (5) Bylaws Committee members having closed and been published, the polls will open Monday, January 29, 2001 at 11 p.m. EST for a period of 48 hours closing on Wednesday, January 31, 2001 at 11 p.m. EST at: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/alhn-membership-voting/polls 2.
