Board of Directors 1. During the months of July and August, 2000, the ALHN Board of Directors received complaints against Director Eveline Crocker, alleging that she had (a) on a national ALHN mailing list, engaged in personal attacks and forwarded private emails; and (b) in her capacity as the ALHN WebRing Masterinterfered in state matters . 2. In accordance with the Idaho Act, Robert's Rules of Order and the Articles, Bylaws and Policies of the American Local History Network, Inc., the Board: A. Notified Ms. Crocker of the complaints; B. Investigated each complaint thoroughly, including documentation provided by the complainants and Ms. Crocker. C. Gave timely notice to Ms. Crocker that the Board would meet in executive session on this matter on 08/07/2000 following the public board meeting. 3. Ms. Crocker notified the Board by email about one hour before the public meeting was to commence that she would not be in attendance at either meeting due to illness. Ms. Crocker also provided the Board with her defense of her position at this time. All other directors were in attendance. Following further discussion and study, the Board determined that the complaints were valid, and unanimously resolved to (a) remove Ms. Crocker as Treasurer and WebRing Master; (b) place her on "read-only" status on the ALHN webmaster's list for a period of 30 days, and on "moderated" status for the next 30 days; and (c) notify her of the Board's actions, including that she turn over the passwords to the ALHN WebRing sites. 4. In accordance with Robert's Rules of Order, the specific complaints, correspondence and meeting records shall be sealed. 5. In accordance with the Bylaws, the Treasurer's position will be filled by a directors' election at the next Board Meeting, and the WebRing Master's position will be filled by a membership election (to be scheduled). Because of the membership vote to determine whether to remove Ms. Crocker without cause, the Board determined not to release the above information until after the polls had closed to avoid any possible appearance of attempting to influence votes. Sincerely, Kathy Leigh, ALHN President on behalf of the ALHN Board of Directors
